Our Guest Preacher, for Men’s Day, November 19, 2023 is Rev. Cavalain Hawkins

Rev. Cavalain Hawkins was born in Newark, N.J. to the Rev. Edward Hawkins, Moderator of Primitive Baptist Association, and to Eva Hawkins. Rev. Hawkins is the third of eight children. He attended West Side High, graduating in the top 5 percent of his class. He received an academic scholarship and attended Seton Hall University, where he secured a joint degree in Economics and Government, and was elected to the Dean’s committee. Later, he joined the United States Marines.
Rev. Hawkins has held several positions, including private investigator, Jack- in-the-Box corporate manager, machinist, banker, and worker for the Los Angeles Police Department. He was hired by Ford Motor Company as a corporate executive and Quality Control Analyst. After moving to California, he attended law school.
Having an entrepreneurial spirit, Hawkins secured a C-33 license contracted with federal, state and local governments, and employed in excess of 23 employees.
Rev. Hawkins has served as Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, and St Paul’s UMC, Co-Pastor of Scott UMC, and Associate Pastor of Holman UMC. He was elected as keynote presenter for the Hawaii district revival and served as Co-Chair of the Conference Prayer and Healing Committee. He was a member of the District Board of Ordained Ministry, Congregation Loan Committee and several others. He sits on several non-profit boards that serve the community and world.
For six years, Rev. Hawkins was the elected Spiritual Director of Walk of Emmaus at Channel Islands. He is married to Alma J. Hawkins and, most of all, he is a child of God.
