In recognition of Veterans Day, Holman United Methodist Church and Holman Community Development Corporation will hold a public screening of the documentary film SERVICE: When Women Come Marching Home on Sunday, 1:30p.m., November 10, 2013, at 3320 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90018.
The film portrays the journey of several women veterans as they transition from active duty to civilian life and the challenges faced as they attempt to access benefits and care.
The film will be a centerpiece of an event geared to raise awareness about Holman’s Beyond The Battlefield initiative, a project created to provide education to the community about women veterans and facilitate their connection to services and assistance. Support for this project was provided by a grant received from Swords to Plowshares.
Admission is free. Refreshments and appetizers will be served. For more information, please contact Beyond The Battlefield at info (at) 4womenvets.org.
