On Friday, August 2, Holman’s own Peggy Preacely is moderating a Q&A with Honorary Oscar® recipient and legendary filmmaker, Charles Burnett and award-winning actor, Carl Lumbly after the screening of Burnett’s film, NIGHTJOHN, where Lumbly plays the enslaved title character who‘s secret ability to read becomes a dangerous liability. The screening is part of the two night retrospective, “CHARLES BURNETT: A Cinematic Conscience“ that is also a benefit for the 501(c)3 nonprofit Highways Performance Space where it is being held. The reception is at 6:45 pm, the screening begins at 7:30 pm, and the Q&A follows. Tax deductible tickets are $20 for General Admission and $15 for Seniors & Students w/ID.
