H.O.P.E. Mission Statement
H.O.P.E. (Holman Organized for people Empowerment) is an outreach HIV/AIDS Ministry whose purpose is to inform and educate people about the impact of HIV/AIDS in the African-American community and help to reduce the spread of the disease.
H.O.P.E. has engaged in the HIV/AIDS Ministry for more than fourteen years and provides an ongoing updated literature table at the church.
- A. – H.O.P.E. volunteers to feed the HIV/AIDS patients at the OASIS Clinic every 5th Tuesday
- B. – H.O.P.E. volunteers with the Black AIDS Institute (Heroes in the Struggle)
- C. – H.O.P.E. raises funds and volunteers with APLA (AIDS Walk) each year
- D. – H.O.P.E. has a “Conversation with Youth” event around HIV/AIDS every year at the church
- E. – H.O.P.E. participates in community HIV/AIDS events and provides support in the struggle to end HIV/AIDS
- F. – H.O.P.E. participates in church services that lifts up prayer for the Healing of HIV/AIDS
- G. – H.O.P.E. presents an annual “ Coffee House” each year to raise funds and recognize the supporters of the HIV/AIDS ministry
- H. – H.O.P.E. provides a scholarship to the Cal-Pac “Strength for the Journey” Retreat Camp for adults living with HIV/AIDS .
Meeting Times
H.O.P.E. meets every month on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Woodson Parlor.
