1001 New Worshiping Communities|8/8/2024
1001 New Worshiping Communities is a movement of people committed to seeing the church come alive again, by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in creating new ways to worship and connect with God, while embracing the broad diversity and uniqueness within people.
We welcome to the podcast two excellent pastors from Los Angeles: the Rev. Carlton Rhoden, who is a long-time community organizer and pastor of Westminster Presbyterian of Los Angeles and the Rev. Victor Cyrus-Franklin, newly appointed senior pastor of Holman United Methodist Church.
In part one of our conversation, we discuss how these two leaders and their congregations came to see affordable housing as a ministry opportunity, moving the needle from NIMBY (“Not in my backyard”) syndrome to YIGBY: “Yes in God’s backyard”.
