Low-Income riders can apply for LIFE fare discounts at Metro Customer Centers
Metro Customer Centers are now accepting applications for the Low-Income Fare Is Easy (LIFE) program at all five locations, making the discount program more accessible throughout L.A. County. The LIFE program offers fare assistance to qualifying low-income riders.

LIFE participants receive discounts on passes to ride Metro and participating transit agencies, with savings of $6 off a weekly pass and up to $24 off a monthly pass. Participants also have the option of a 20 free regional ride benefit through the program. Riders with a Reduced Fare TAP card can also apply for the LIFE program if they meet the income requirements, and receive additional savings on monthly passes.
To apply for the LIFE program, riders must complete an application and provide copies of a government-issued ID, proof of income (Medi-Cal, EBT, Free or Reduced Lunch, Social Security award, check stub or tax return) and a valid TAP card.
In addition to submitting applications at Customer Centers, qualifying riders can also apply by mail, email or drop off applications at FAME and IILA, two groups working with Metro:
