Chaplain, Colonel David L. Morrow

(USAF Retired)

Chaplain, Colonel David L. Morrow (Ret.) is a native of Mebane, North Carolina.  He was commissioned as a Chaplain Candidate, Second Lieutenant in May 1981 and as a Chaplain, First Lieutenant in December 1983.  He entered active duty in February 1984 and among his 13 assignments he served as a Protestant Chaplain, Senior Protestant Chaplain, Faculty at the Air Force Chaplain Service Institute, Wing Chaplain, student-in-residence Professional Military Education, Numbered Air Force Headquarters Chaplain, Deputy Command Chaplain, and as Chief, Personnel, Budget and Readiness Division, Office of the Chief of Chaplains, Headquarters United States Air Force, Washington, District of Columbia. 

Chaplain Morrow received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Theological Seminary at Wake Forest; a Master of Arts degree from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond, Virginia, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. 

Since his retirement from the Air Force in 2011, Chaplain Morrow has served as Pastor of New Creation United Methodist Church, Durham, NC; taught at Burlington Christian Academy; and served as a part-time Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church on Apple Street, Burlington, NC. 

Chaplain Morrow was appointed to serve on the North Carolina Veterans Affairs Commission by Governor Roy Cooper in 2019. In November 2018, he was elected to the Alamance County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors. Among his many volunteer activities, he serves as Vice Chair of the Alamance County Senior Services Committee and as a Mentor with the Alamance Burlington School System. He has served with Feed the Hunger Ministry, Alamance County Meals on Wheels, and tutor with the school system.

He is married to the former Vickie Blackwell of Yanceyville, North Carolina and is the father of two children, David II and Joanna Grace, both who reside in Los Angeles.
