Sanctuary of Hope: A Narrative of Ending Black Homelessness

A Narrative of Black Homelessness is a community “awakening” and movement-building event for Black History Month. This forum will be a conscious narrative on Black homelessness that will address structural and systemic issues as well as engage attendees to offer solutions and actions to be influencers of change.

The event will take place at Holman United Methodist Church, 3320 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90018 at 10 am on Tuesday, February 27. Doors will open at 9:30 am.

A Narrative of Black Homelessness will be moderated by community activist Karren Lane. Confirmed panelists are:  Povi-Tamu Bryant, Black Workers Center; Earl Edwards, UCLA Graduate Researcher at the Black Male Institute; Damien Goodmon, Crenshaw Subway Coalition; Tiffany Johnson, A New Way of Life; Veronica Lewis, Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care Services (HOPICS); Ishimine Caldwell, Coalition for Responsible Community Development; Reba Stevens, Community Advocate; Pete White, Los Angeles Community Action Network.  This is a FREE event.  Food will be served.
