California Community Colleges Interim Chancellor Statement on El Camino Community College District Trustee Kenneth A. Brown

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —California Community Colleges Interim Chancellor Daisy Gonzales, PhD, issued the following statement on the death of El Camino Community College District Trustee Kenneth A. Brown:

Our hearts are deeply saddened at the news that Trustee Kenneth Brown has passed away. The positive impact of his leadership on his community and the entire California community college system has been profound. From his role teaching physics for more than 20 years to the 12 years he served on the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees, Brown was a champion for students in everything he did. He was immediate past president of the Community College League of California’s Trustee Board and a member of the League’s Trustee Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) implementation workgroup, and his legacy and commitment will empower generations of leaders to come.”
