OneLegacy presents Connecting the Dots: A Discussion About Health Equity in Organ Donation. Join us on National Organ Donor Day, February 14th, during Black History Month, for a webinar discussing the disproportionate need for organ transplantation in communities of color – and specifically among Black Californians. The event will bring together community leaders from throughout California to explore how we can work together to address this need through awareness, education and donor registration.
We will be joined by:
- Rhonda M. Smith, Executive Director, California Black Health Network
- Pastor William D. Smart Jr., President & CEO, Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Southern California
- Dr. Cedric Jamie Rutland, Pulmonary/Critical Care Doctor, West Coast Lung Rutland Medical Group
- E’Tiffany Jones, Head of Production & Community Engagement, OneLegacy
- OneLegacy Ambassador, Heart Transplant Recipient
The discussion will also touch on myths, misconceptions and mistrusts that have led to lower authorization rates for donation among communities of color and what can be done today to address these issues head on. Join us as we provide a critical opportunity to discuss the need for, and approaches to, achieving improved donation for Black Californians. RSVP here.
