On Sunday, we were honored to participate in launching the National Week of Non-Violence. In collaboration with the Black Women for Positive Change & the National Summit Council. We welcomed Black Women for Positive Change Networkers in Los Angeles, Jan Perry, Betty Lee and Evelyn Dixon. Please check-out www.blackwomenforpositivechange.org for activities this week, and the National Summit scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd at Metropolitan AME Church in Washington DC. The Summit will conclude with a youth concert, “Positive Change Harmony Jam” at 4 pm EST that will be streamed live at www.blackwomenforpositivechange.org.
With violence on every hand, and a code of silence being honored protecting perpetrators – regardless of what colors they where; with or without uniform or badge, it’s sometimes hard to know whose protecting who, and who is suppose to be serving who. How can we seize the day and make life extraordinary for everyone especially our children.
“Seize the Day” is a call to intentional living, so that whatever action you take today, you take it for the future. “Seize the Day” is a call to transformational living in alignment with the future of hope God has in stall for us. It’s an invitation to put aside all differences, grow beyond all grudges, transcend all fears, overcome all worries, and make the most of the time you have.
“Seize the Day” is an invitation to step up, all in…step up, all into life…life to the fullest…life that is mutually beneficial, life that enables and enhances…an extraordinary life of non violent living…life that builds a culture of non-violence.
Min. Victor Cyrus-Franklin, Assistant Pastor at Holman UMC, will conclude the “National Week of Non-Violence” with his sermon “From Hurt To Healing” on Sunday, August 24th.
